THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a big statement with serious consequences, LDF state secretary M V Govindan alleged KPCC chief K Sudhakaran’s direct involvement in the POCSO case surrounding conman Monson Mavunkal.
“When Monson was sexually abusing the minor girl, K Sudhakaran was present there. This is the victim's statement to the police. Sudhakaran knew about the crime but remained silent allowing Monson to continue his dreadful practice. The crime branch questioning the congress leader will be part of it” said M V Govindan.
Govindan never wavered from his earlier stand on the case against an Asianet journalist for bringing out the scam involving SFI in Maharajas College. He said the law is applicable to all and it will run its course without any political intrusion. "I never said journalists will be arrested for criticizing SFI or CPM” Govindan commented.
“ India ranks low in press freedom index. CPM has vowed to allow the press to work freely in Kerala. However, the media is working like event management firms. I don't think there will ever exist a journalist faction like Kerala where there is such hatred for communists. “ Govindan critiqued.
