THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Poojapura Ravi mostly played Namboothiri and Swami roles in theater and cinema. Ravi made that look a symbol of prosperity in life as well. During his time as a regular actor in Kalanilayam of Putharikandam, Ravi used to wake up early in the morning even if he goes to bed after midnight. Ravi came to cinema in 1976 with Hariharan's Ammini Ammavan. Before that, he did a small role in Veluthampi Dalawa. In Ammini Ammaavan Ravi played a Swami who was strict in the office but scared of his wife at home. The movie starts with the scene of Poojapura Ravi. Swami is telling the words of the letter to be prepared in English, being a little flirtatious. He gets angry at Gopi, played by Prem Nazir, who walks in. Swami who brings sweets to the office will say that all of them are made by his wife. Actually, Swami was the cook of the house. The film became a super hit. The next role was in KS Sethumadhavan's 'Ormakal Marikkumo?'
