THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala is reeling under the fever outbreak which has become stronger before the monsoon. There is an increase in number of patients in all districts. Dengue fever and rabies are serious life-threatening conditions along with infectious fever.

3678 people sought treatment in government hospitals with dengue symptoms. 13 people died. 877 people have been diagnosed with the disease. 2801 people are waiting for the test results. 165 people sought treatment for rat fever. Nine deaths were reported.

There is also a large increase in the number of diarrhea related diseases. 30212 people sought treatment. Eight people were suffering from tick fever. If private hospitals are taken into account, the number of fever patients will more than double.

So far this year, 66 people have died with leptospirosis (rat fever) symptoms. Of these, 27 deaths were confirmed to be due to rat fever. 1302 people sought treatment during this period with symptoms of rat fever.
