THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SFI leader Nikhil Thomas suspended in fake degree controversy. Kayamkulam MSM College Principal Dr. Mohammad Thaha said that legal action will be taken against Nikhil. A six-member committee has been appointed to investigate the incident. Mohammad Thaha stated that the committee has been instructed to submit a report within two days.
Kalinga University's B.Com certificate was not brought to the college in the beginning. Admission to the college was given after obtaining the equivalency certificate from the university. Admission to the student was granted only as per University rules. Necessary steps will be taken after the report, Dr. Muhammad Taha told the media.
Kalinga University informed that a student named Nikhil Thomas did not study at the university. Registrar Sandeep Gandhi said that the matter has been checked. The registrar also informed that legal action will be taken against Nikhil Thomas. He added that the verification was done because he noticed the news.
Meanwhile, College Trust Joint Secretary Sheikh P Harris responded that the manager had failed in his duty by giving admission to Nikhil Thomas. Sheikh P Harris said that it is the manager and principal's responsibility to check and evaluate the documents and it is the manager who should clarify which political leader made the recommendation.
