KOCHI: Monson Mavunkal in a shocking confession told the court about crime branch officers forcing him to tell statements against KPCC president K Sudhakaran. Monson's revelation came while attending a virtual hearing session with a special court that mainly conducts trials for attacks against women and children.

Monson wrote a complaint about the same issue and informed this court. Special court judge K Soman asked the jail superintendent to collect the complaint and submit it in court.

According to Monson: While going back after hearing the verdict in the POCSO case, some crime branch officers asked him to incriminate K Sudhakaran in this crime. They asked Monson to lie about K Sudhakaran receiving Rs 25 lakhs from him. The officers threatened him with the life of his wife and daughter. The police officers accompanying Monson on his return to jail were witnesses to this conversation.

Monson was earlier found guilty of sexually abusing a minor girl and got a life sentence for the crime. He abused her even after she crossed 18 years of age. Today's court hearing was to discuss the case. Monson appeared for the virtual session from a high-security cell in Viyyur.
