THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sanjay P Mallar, son of doctor couple Praveen Gopinath and Veena Praveen, has secured first rank in the state engineering entrance exam. Score 583.6440 out of 600.

Ashiq Stenny (575.7034), son of Professor Stenny James, Department of Biology, Pala Brilliant Study Centre, native of Kottayam Nariyanganam, and teacher Binu George, bagged the second rank. Freddie George Robin (572.7548), son of Robin Sebastian, a native of Kottayam Kuravilangad, Vice President, Delhi Yamuna Power Limited, and Dr. Grace Maria of Lizzie Hospital, is ranked third.

1st rank in the Scheduled Caste category goes to Chetana SJ (441.7023), daughter of Santhosh Kumar, Water Authority Engineer, and Jayalatha, Professor, CUSAT. The second rank goes to Suryadev Vinod (437.9901), a native of Kozhikode Malaparamba.

In the Scheduled Tribe category, Eden Vinu John (387.5987), son of Ernakulam Thevara native Vinu, Railway Office Superintendent and Asha, got the first rank and Anagha S (364.7566) native of Palakkad Nechoor got the second rank. Rank list available on www.cee.kerala.gov.in website.

49,671 candidates were qualified. 25,346 boys and 24,325 girls. Among the top 5000 ranks, there are 2,043 candidates from State Higher Secondary Syllabus, 2,790 from CBSE and 133 from ISCE. 154 candidates from Ernakulam and 135 from Thiruvananthapuram were included in the top 1000 rank.

The result of the entrance exam conducted on May 17 has been published at record speed this time. Minister R Bindu announced the result. The list is published along with the marks of the qualifying examination. The category and community list will be published later.

Allotment on 1st July

There are 49,903 seats in 142 colleges of the technical university. The allotment process will begin on July 1. The minister said that the architecture and pharmacy rank list will be published at the end of this month.

Entrance will be online next year

Minister R Bindu said that the online entrance examination for engineering and pharmacy is under consideration. Technical systems have been set up for this. A decision will be taken in this regard after consulting the Chief Minister.
