KOCHI: The Kerala High closed further proceedings on the plea filed by Sumayya Sherin of Malappuram demanding the release of her live in relation partner abducted by her parents.
A division bench of Justice P B Suresh Kumar and Justice C S Sudha closed the further proceedings after the woman who appeared in the court said that she is not interested in continuing the relationship and showed interest in going with her parents.
The two of Malappuram became friends when they were studying in twelfth standard. They decided to live together when they turned 18. Following the opposition of their families, the two left homes on January 27.
After the woman’s relatives filed a complaint with the police, the two were produced before the Malappuram Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court. The two shifted to Ernakulam after the court permitted them to live together. However, Sumayya’s complaint filed on May 30 said that the woman’s relatives abducted her.
