PATHANAMTHITTA: Arvind, a native of Pathanamthitta, was killed in the explosion at the Kanjikode steel factory in Palakkad when he was about to leave for Gulf. His visa was ready but the passport was yet to be received and he was waiting for that.

Arvind joined the Kanjikode factory on the 29th of last month. His mother Rajshree was the one who took him to Palakkad. Arvind had called his mother, who was living alone at home, the night before the incident as well. Rajshree is an accountant in a chartered accountant office in Pathanamthitta. His sister Ardra works in a private firm in Ernakulam.

Aravind's house is about one kilometer inland from Omallur Milma Junction. The walls of the old house are cracked. The repayment of the loan taken from the bank in the name of the house has not been completed. Arvind's dream was a good house and his sister's marriage. His father had left the family so Aravind had to take over all the family responsibilities.

He completed his studies in Power Electronics from ITI, Chenneerkara. Arvind, who excelled as a Hydro Heavy Vehicle Operator in Ernakulam, got a job at the Kanjikode Steel Company through an interview held there.
