EZHUKONE: The two doctors, who stitched up a nursing staff with a mop in the stomach of Chinjuraj, a nursing staff at Ezhukone ESI hospital during the delivery operation, has been transferred.

Dr V Indira, Head of Gynaecology, was transferred to Udaipur in Rajasthan and Dr L Dhanya, the specialist who performed the surgery, was transferred to Bapunagar in Gujarat. It is indicated that the change is based on the inquiry commission report.

The surgery was done on March 11. After becoming infected with health problems, Dr. L. Dhanya took the initiative and conducted the inspection at a private scanning centre in Kottarakkara. After finding the mop, she was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery. Relatives were not informed about this. The incident became known to the outside world after it became controversial.

The investigation team reached the hospital on March 29 and 30. Bangalore Zonal Medical Commissioner Dr Sunitha Chopra, State Insurance Medical Officer Dr PS Naina, Sub Regional Deputy Director PG Bijoy, Ashram ESI Medical Superintendent Dr L Dhanasekaran, Head of Surgery Department Dr Shelvan Lukes and Govt Victoria Hospital Senior Nursing Officer Najumunnisa were in the investigation team. After the Central ESI authorities expressed dissatisfaction with the initial report, the team came back and conducted a detailed investigation.

It is known that the action is based on this report. But the transfer order says it is in public interest. A few weeks ago, in a general transfer, Dhanya was transferred to the Kollam Ashram and Indira was asked to stay in Ezhukone. The current list includes only Dr V Indira and Dr L Dhanya.
