THRISSUR: A youth who hurled crackers at an ATM in the city has been arrested. He threw the crackers in a fit of rage after the bank took the service charge from his account following default of EMI. Thrissur East Police arrested Rajeesh Prakash, a resident of Angamoozhy in Pathanamthitta.
Rajeesh was working as an AC mechanic in Thrissur. Meanwhile, he got a message on his mobile stating that the service charge has been taken from his account due to the default of EMI. Before the incident, he had gone to the bank and argued with the employees. Rajeesh then bought crackers from a shop in the general hospital premises and threw it inside the bank's ATM.
The accused who fled was caught from Kanimagalam. The police identified the accused after checking the CCTV visuals of the bank and the ATM. Rajeesh fled after switching off his mobile phone but was arrested later.
