THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The M.Com registration of former SFI leader Nikhil Thomas, who is absconding in connection with the fake certificate case, has been cancelled. The equivalence certificate issued by Kerala University has also been cancelled.
Kalinga University has officially replied to Kerala University that Nikhil Thomas' certificate is fake. Kalinga University asked the Registrar of Kerala University to take strict action in the incident. Meanwhile, Kerala VC Mohan Kunnummal said that all those who broke the law will be jailed.
Meanwhile, the police have appointed a special team to find the absconding Nikhil Thomas. An investigation team led by the Kayamkulam CI is looking for Nikhil. His mobile phone is switched off. The last location was found in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.
The Kayamkulam police have registered a case against Nikhil on charges of forgery and fraud. As part of the investigation, the authorities told Kayamkulam police that Nikhil's degree certificate was fake. The university has clarified that the certificates are fake and such a student has never studied in Kalinga.
