PALAKKAD: The arrest of former SFI leader K Vidya in the case of forging an experience certificate in the name of Ernakulam Maharaja's College, has been recorded. Her arrest was recorded after bringing her to Palakkad early Thursday morning. She will be produced in the Mannarkkad court at 11 am.

Her statement to the police has surfaced. ‘Being a bright student, I don’t need a fake certificate. I’ve not given such a certificate anywhere. I was deliberately trapped due to political enmity. A teachers organisation owing allegiance to the congress is behind it,’ said Vidya.

The police who had no clue of her hiding place, nabbed her last evening from the house of her friend, a former student of Maharajas College, at Perambra in Kozhikode. She was nabbed after 15 days of registering the case. The police said that she was nabbed following her mobile tower location. She was taken into police custody from Meppayur in Kozhikode when she came out from her friend’s house. Her two mobile phones were switched off. While in hiding, she had reached Ernakulam and Kozhikode.

The case is that she produced a fake experience certificate in the name of Maharaja's College, Ernakulam for the appointment to the post of Malayalam Guest Lecturer in Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College in Palakkad. The high court had postponed to next week considering her anticipatory bail plea in the cases registered by the Palakkad Agali Police and the Kasaragod Neeleswaram Police.
