THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have registered an FIR against KSU state convener Anzil Jaleel for allegedly forging his B.Com certificate. According to the FIR registered by the Cantonment Police, Anzil made a fake certificate and tried to cheat Kerala University using it. The police registered the case on the complaint of the registrar of Kerala University. Anzil has been charged with non-bailable sections punishable with imprisonment of up to seven years.
The Kerala University had found Anzil Jaleel's degree certificate to be fake. This was confirmed during the inspection conducted by the Controller of Examinations Gopakumar. The investigation report clarified that the register number in Anzil's B.Com degree certificate was not given by the university. The report of the Controller of Examinations stated that the signature of the VC on the certificate is fake and certificates with this serial number were not issued during the period mentioned in the certificate. Following this, the university registrar lodged a complaint with the DGP.
Meanwhile, Anzil has filed a complaint with the police stating that he did not forge any certificate. He also demanded an investigation into it. Anzil said that the allegation is baseless and a political conspiracy is behind it. Anzil had earlier said that an attempt was being made to insult him on social media under the cover of false allegations and that he will take legal action against the media that published the news.
