WASHINGTON: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in the United States for a three-day visit, received a warm welcome at the White House. Modi was received at the White House with a 19-member military gun salute. The reception came ahead of bilateral talks between the two heads of state.

While thanking the reception held at the White House, Prime Minister Modi clarified that the relationship between India and the United States is based on democracy. He also pointed out the similarity in the constitutions of the two countries. Modi said that a new world order has been formed after Covid and that India will work together with the United States for world peace and sustainability.

After receiving Modi, US President Joe Biden said that in the current world situation, it is imperative that India and the US work together. Biden made it clear that he has been enjoying a warm relationship based on trust with Modi since the time he was vice president. Joe Biden said that both countries are working together to eradicate poverty, address climate change, and ensure health care and food security. All these are equally important for America, India and the world.
