THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The director of general education has issued an order to recover the loss of Rs 38,30,772 to the government, in an incident of theft of question paper three years ago in Kuzhimanna Higher Secondary School in Malappuram, from four employees including the principal.

Principal and Chief Superintendent of Examinations D Geetha, Deputy Chief Superintendents T Muhammadali, K Maharoof and watchman T Abdul Samad were earlier suspended. This is followed by the action to recover the amount. The Higher Secondary Administration Department will take action to recover the amount from Principal Geetha. Higher Secondary Finance Officer Mohanan Kumar has been tasked to report on the recovery of the amount from teachers Muhammadali T, Maharoof Ali K and night watchman Abdul Samad.

Ten packets each of the question papers of English, Economics and Accountancy subjects of the first year supplementary examination which started on December 18, 2020 were stolen from Kuzhimanna GHSS. The police, who investigated the case, received the CCTV footage of the thief.
