PALAKKAD: The evidence of former SFI leader Vidya, arrested for producing a fake experience certificate in the name of Maharajas College to secure the guest lecturer post in RGM Government Arts and Science College in Attappady, will be collected today. The principal of the college will reach Agali police station today as part of collecting evidence.

The principal has to identify whether it was Vidya who had come for the interview. In her statement to the police, Vidya had stated that it was a conspiracy hatched with the knowledge of the college principal. The court has granted two days of her custody to the investigation team.

Vidya produced in the court has been remanded till July 6. Vidya, who is in police custody for interrogation, will be produced in the court tomorrow. The Mannarkkad court will consider her bail plea on Saturday.

Meantime, the defense counsel said that Vidya had not gone into hiding. Vidya has been arrested now to satisfy the media and the public. The lawyer said Vidya is being hunted only because she is a former SFI leader.
