KOCHI: KPCC president K Sudhakaran on Friday responded to the questions of the media ahead of appearing before the Crime Branch in the fake antiques case. Sudhakaran said that he is not afraid of anyone as he is a politician who has not taken any bribes.

"I am aware of the things that I did. I am not concerned about any arrest. I have an anticipatory bail. I have faith in the legal system, including the courts," Sudhakaran said.

As Sudhakaran has obtained anticipatory bail from the High Court, the Crime Branch may release him on anticipatory bail after recording his arrest.

Sudhakaran is the second accused in the fraud case against Monson Mavunkal. The main witness in the case is the person who gave a confidential statement. According to the main witness, Sudhakaran was seen receiving the money at Monson's house on the day of the incident. The Crime Branch has also obtained a piece of evidence that showed that Monson had travelled to Delhi with this witness.

Anoop, one of the complainants, had told the police that he had given Rs 25 lakhs to Monson in the presence of K Sudhakaran. Monson’s former driver Ajith and employees Jaison and Joshi said they saw Rs 10 lakh being handed over to Sudhakaran soon after Anoop left.
