KOCHI: The Income Tax Department is gearing up to take action against the YouTubers in the state following the raids that took place the other day. After recent raids, the IT department had discovered that the YouTubers owed taxes of almost Rs 25 crores. Some of the YouTubers have to pay about two crore rupees as tax. However, some of them have not paid even a single rupee of tax till date, the IT Department said.
When inquired about this, many YouTubers responded that they did not know that they had to pay taxes. It is hinted that the IT Department will extend the tax inspection to more YouTubers in the state. So far, IT officials have inspected the houses and offices of 13 YouTubers in the state.
On the other day, officials of the IT Department conducted raids at the houses of actress and anchor Pearle Maaney, Fishing Freaks (Sebin), M4Tech, Arjyou, Callmeshazzam, Akhil NRD, Jayaraj G Nath, Unboxing Dude, Rising Star, Eagle Gaming and Kaztro GAMING. It is said that many of them have an annual income of Rs 1 to 2 crores and that they get a lot of income from attending inaugurations, foreign trips, etc.
