THRISSUR: Deaths due to fever continue to be a cause of concern in the state. A 13-year-old boy, who was undergoing treatment in Chazhoor in Thrissur, died due to fever on Friday. The deceased is Chazhoor native Dhanishk (13). The child had been undergoing treatment at the Thrissur Medical College Hospital since June 17. Dhanishk is a Class 8 stident of Chazhoor SNMHS. It is suspected that the child was infected with dengue fever. There is no confirmation in this regard.

Meanwhile, Kattakkada native Vijayan died due to dengue fever in Thiruvananthapuram. It is reported that nearly 12,000 people are seeking treatment for fever every day in the state. Most people sought treatment in the Malappuram district. More than 1000 people are being diagnosed with fever in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode districts every day.

Most of those who died of fever are below 50 years of age. 11,462 dengue cases were confirmed in 10 days. The total number of patients suffering from fever is around 1.12 lakh.
