THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A KSRTC Swift bus employee who took money from the passengers without giving ticket has been terminated. Conductor S Biju was terminated from service. The vigilance department of the KSRTC inspected 27,813 buses this month. Reports said irregularities were noticed in 131 buses.

The vigilance department conducted inspections in various parts of the state from June 1 to 20. Conductor Biju was terminated for taking money without giving tickets to the two passengers traveling on KSRTC Swift bus on route KS153 Kaniyapuram-Eastern Kota, on June 13 in Thiruvananthapuram. A case of embezzlement of public money has been registered against him at Thiruvananthapuram Fort Police Station. KSRTC Alappuzha unit conductor P R Johnkutty and Adoor unit conductor K Mohanan have been suspended for taking money from passengers and not issuing tickets. In addition, ten more employees were suspended during vigilance investigation.
