MUMBAI: India's squad for the upcoming tour to West Indies has been announced. While veteran player Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped from the Test squad, Malayali cricketer Sanju Samson has been included in the ODI squad. Sanju has been included in the squad as wicket keeper.

Pujara was included in the team ahead of the World Test Championship final. However, the selectors decided to drop him from the team following his poor performance in the final. Senior pace bowler Mohammed Shami has been rested. Pacer Umesh Yadav did not make it to the Test squad.

Although it was hinted that senior players will be rested for the West Indies tour, captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been named in the Test and ODI squads. Rohit will lead the side both in Tests and ODIs. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane and Hardik Pandya have been named vice-captains of the Test and ODI teams respectively. Young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has earned his maiden call-up for the Test matches against West Indies.

ODI squad: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubhman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya (vice-captain), Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat and Umran Malik.
