WASHINGTON: India and USA are reaching a defense deal that will get into the annals of history, commented Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Indian PM was on his oratory masterclass inside the US Congress where he enlightened the senate members about the burgeoning new camaraderie between the two countries. Modi thanked the US administration for allowing him to address Congress for the second time. His monologue was occasionally interrupted with rousing applause and cheers from the senate. A standing ovation followed at the end.

Modi juxtaposed the rising prowess of AI with that of the growing America-India (AI) relations. He said the defense trade between the two countries is seeing unprecedented growth. “India is embarked on a mission to the moon and is forever gripped with the technologies surrounding space. India needs technical appliances for our space mission and the only solace will be to depend on America. In one single order from India, 10 lakh people across 44 states in America will be employed. The same applies to India's relations with America in semiconductors and minerals.” PM Modi said.

“ I visited America decades back. It was my first US trip and I had a glimpse of the white house from the outside. At that time, India was the 10th growing economy in the world. And now, India is the 5th growing economy in the world, and soon enough will jump to third spot” Modi remarked.

US vice president Kamala Harris was also in the coterie that applauded the Indian PM’s address to Congress.
