THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The health department has instructed special services in front of taluk and general hospitals, that are swarming with fever patients. A separate OP counter and pharmacy stall will be made exclusive for fever patients. The move is to curb the spread of fever in the state among the many choked up in hospitals. The district medical officer has also instructed the same to hospitals in the capital.
Keralakaumudi reported yesterday about the hospitals in the state failing to gather platelet stock for patients reaching hospitals. The move to start a separate OP counter has been welcomed in all districts. Apart from leptospirosis and dengue, H1N1 fever is the new entrant wreaking havoc in the state.
The new move to start separate OP counters will also lower the rush in front of counters, making the engagements more hassle-free.
