MANNARKADU: The court here has granted bail to former SFI leader K Vidya in a fake work experience certificate case on two surety bonds of Rs.50,000 each. The bail was given with conditions such as not to leave Kerala under any circumstances. Documents including passport should be produced in court.

K Vidya told the court that she had no need to forge the document and that she passed PG with rank. Vidya requested the court that she is a woman and should grant bail considering her health and age.

"There was no difficulty in police custody. The arrest was made by violating all norms. My health condition is poor. The police did not issue a notice to appear in the case. The police did not say exactly why the arrest was being made. Bail can be revoked if I try to influence witnesses. I will fully cooperate with the investigation. Do not remand me for recovery. My passport can be produced. I will not go into hiding", Vidya said during the hearing. Vidya also asked not to put throw her in front of the media again.

But the prosecutor argued that Vidya admitted to forging the document. "There is also a statement that the fake document was destroyed after the case was filed. The original could not be found. The truth of this statement must be ascertained. Vidya was not at home to serve the notice", the prosecution told the court opposing the bail application.
