THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran said that Rahul Gandhi has not responded to the arrest of KPCC president K Sudhakaran even 24 hours after the arrest as he is convinced that Sudhakaran had committed a crime. Surendran said in a statement that although such a serious case has been registered in the name of the KPCC president, the silence of the Congress high command in the matter is proof of its unholy alliance with the CPM.

"The KPCC president was arrested in the CPM-ruled Kerala when a meeting of opposition parties was taking place in Patna. The arrest of a Congress MP in an opposition-ruled state during a meeting held against the arrest of corrupt persons by the central agencies is a blow to the opposition's stance. The police, which had been slow in dealing with cases against Sudhakaran and VD Satheesan, suddenly showed haste in arresting Sudhakaran as part of a political adjustment. The fact that the Congressmen did not protest despite the arrest of the KPCC president underlines adjustment politics," Surendran said.
