KOLLAM: The truck driver was killed after a KSRTC bus collided with a parcel truck at Kulakkada in Kottarakkara on MC Road. The accident took place at the Kulakada school junction at around half past noon yesterday. The deceased is Thrissur Choolissery native PR Sharandev (33).

18 people, including the KSRTC driver, were injured. Traffic was disrupted for around 45 minutes. The truck of Thrissur Vinayaka Petro Products Company was going to Thrissur from Thiruvananthapuram. The KSRTC fast passenger was going from Kumily to Thiruvananthapuram. Sharandev, who was stuck in the front of the truck, was pulled out after more than half an hour of effort by the fire force, police and locals. He was rushed to Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital and from there to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. However, his life could not be saved. The other injured were admitted to Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital.
