ALAPPUZHA: Two motorists were killed in a collision between a lorry and a bike. The lorry laden with gas cylinders hit the bike early Sunday morning near Punnapra Kalithattu Junction on the national highway in Alappuzha.

The two dead are Ananthu (21) of Ambalappuzha and Abhijith (22) of Karur. Another youth who were with them has been admitted in the hospital with serious injuries.

Meantime, four people sustained injuries in an accident between a car and an auto carrying goats at Kilimanoor in Thiruvananthapuram. Three goats in the auto had died.

Muhammad Basheer (58) of Kilimanoor who was in the auto, auto driver Anwar (45) of Nilamel, Ajith (37) of Pathanapuram who was in the car and Jol Abraham (24), of Pathanapuram sustained injuries. Anwar has been admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital and three others have been admitted to Gokulam Medical College.

The accident happened at Pappala on the state highway yesterday morning. The car proceeding to Pathanapuram from Thiruvananthapuram and the auto carrying goats to Killimanoor market from Thattathumala, collided.
