KOCHI: A private bus conductor was thrashed by a group of Students belonging to the left-students union SFI. The incident happened in front of Maharajas College where a group of students dragged the conductor down from the bus, punched him in the face, and later stomped him on the tarmac.

According to police, the conductor is Jeffin who works in a bus named Saradhi that mainly runs between Chottanikkara and Aluva. SFI meanwhile accused the conductor of being rude and uncivil with students. Recently, a student leader was attacked by this conductor while some students even faced an altercation with the conductor for disputes related to concession tickets.

However, the conductor has denied this side of the story and said he distanced from work deliberately for one week in fear of an attack from SFI. The police assured an iron-fist approach in handling the SFI workers and assured strict punishment. Eight students are reported to have attacked the conductor. The video of the attack is currently super viral on social media.
