CAIRO: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Pyramids of Giza, one of the great wonders of the world. During a two-day tour of Egypt, he spent time visiting historical monuments. Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly also accompanied Modi.
Modi along with the Egyptian Prime Minister visited three pyramids on the west bank of the Nile, that was built during the Fourth Dynasty. During the visit, Modi asked about the Great Pyramid of Giza, the tomb of Pharaoh Khufu. Construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza began in the early 26th century BC and is estimated to have taken 27 years to complete. It is the largest pyramid structure in Egypt. Earlier, Modi had also visited the famous Al Hakim Mosque in Egypt, which is a thousand years old.
After a four-day visit to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Egypt's capital Cairo yesterday evening for a two-day official visit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Egypt's highest honor 'Order of the Nile' by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. In their meeting, the leaders agreed to increase India-Egypt cooperation. It is after twenty-six years that an Indian Prime Minister arrived in Egypt for diplomatic talks. PM Modi will return to India this evening.
