KAYANKULAM: The investigation team has recovered the fake certificate used by SFI leader Nikhil Thomas to secure a seat for M.Com in MSM college. The vital evidence was found in Nikhil's home. Apart from the fake certificate, many other details regarding the crime have also been found. 'Manpower recruiting agency' in Ernakulam which purportedly made the certificate for Nikhil is also under the police radar. Nikhil will be brought to this agency tomorrow as part of the investigation.

The police will seek the help of Interpol for former SFI leader Abin Raj, who fabricated a fake B.Com certificate for Nikhil Thomas. A blue corner notice will be issued for Abin. The police are seeking the help of Interpol to bring Abin, who is working in the Maldives, to Kerala. Nikhil's statement is that Abin Raj, former area secretary of SFI Kayamkulam, issued the fake certificate. Abin Raj is the second accused in the case.

Nikhil's friend Abin Raj was earlier an education consultant. Nikhil bought Kalinga University's B.Com certificate from Abin Raj after paying Rs 2 lakh. Abin had assured me that it was original and that there will be no obstacle for him to get admission to M.Com at Kerala University.

However, police are yet to find the iPhone used by Nikhil. He earlier told the police about throwing his phone in a swamp but the CCTV visuals told otherwise. The officials thus confirmed it as a trick from the former SFI comrade. Earlier, Nikhil received help from Kozhikode to remain undercover, so the police are currently in the northern city of Kerala to collect vital details.
