THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kiran, the accused in kidnapping and brutally raping a woman in the capital city, will be produced in the court today. The mobile phone on which he recorded the rape scenes will be given for forensic examination today.
The youth brutally raped the woman after taking her to the warehouse of Krishi Bhavan in Kazhakoottam on Saturday night. The woman somehow managed to escape partially unclothed. The neighbours who heard her screams informed the police after giving her clothes.
The woman has been admitted to SAT Hospital with serious injuries all over her body. Kiran (25), a native of Attingal Avanvancheri, was immediately arrested by the Kazhakoottam police. He forcibly took the woman to the godown on his bike.
The incident happened on Saturday at 11 pm. When the woman was having food with her friend at a hotel near Technopark, Kiran came near her and engaged in a fight. He then told the woman that he would drop her on his bike and then took her to the godown and raped her brutally.
Though she tried to run away, he stopped her by force. Kiran threatened to commit suicide if she fails to go with him on his bike. On reaching Vetturoad, he took her to a shed adjacent to the godown of Krishi Bhavan. He attacked her brutally, unclothed and then raped her.
Kiran shot all these on his mobile. In the meanwhile, the woman lost consciousness. When she regained consciousness at 5 in the morning, she screamed and ran outside. After getting the attention of the residents of the next house, they gave her clothes and informed the Kazhakootam police.
The police arrived and took her to the hospital. Police said the woman was subjected to crucial sexual abuse and suffered severe injuries all over her body. While trying to escape from the godown, the suspect was nabbed by a team led by Cyber City Police Commissioner Prithviraj. The accused had earlier worked as a helper in the godown along with other temporary employees of Krishi Bhavan. So, the police said that he was familiar with this area.
