KOTTARAKKARA: A youth was murdered allegedly by his brother-in-law following a dispute. The police termed the incident where a youth was found dead on the Kottarakkara Road in Kollam, as murder. The dead is Avaya Baro, a native of Odisha. The police have arrested his relative. Avaya Baro was staying in a rented house near Thrikannamangal Thattam.

Baro was found bleeding near the Chantha Mukku Urban Bank. Avaya Baro's brother-in-law Manoj Kumar Naik (sister’s husband) was arrested by the police. He told police that he hit him on his head with a cement block.

Both engaged in a fight the other day in an inebriated condition. Avaya Baro then left home at night saying that he was going to Bengaluru. Manoj Kumar followed Avaya Baro. Avaya Baro owed Rs 5000 to Manoj. An argument over this led to the murder.

The accused was found by a team led by Kottarakkara DySP G D Vijayakumar. He was brought to the spot and evidence was collected. The accused Manoj Kumar Naik has been doing contract work in Kottarakkara for a long time.
