KOZHIKODE: Protests are widespread after MSF leaders who were arrested for showing black flag to Minister V Sivankutty in Koyalandi, were taken away in handcuffs. District Secretary TT Afrin and constituency Secretary Hasif were handcuffed and taken to the police station. MSF leaders said that they will file a complaint with the Human Rights Commission and the Police Commissioner.

The march led by the MSF district committee to the city police commissioner's office resulted in a conflict. The police lathi charged the workers who tried to cross the barricade. One worker was injured.

Muslim League leaders also came forward with severe criticism on the incident. League leader Dr. MK Muneer accused that police who arrested MSF workers are turning into mercenaries of Pinarayi. The police who spreads a red carpet and accept any crime committed by SFI, treated the students who protested like terrorists. If the police do not know how to do their job, we will teach them.

League General Secretary PMA Salam said that there is one law for CPM members and another for others in Kerala. Was Vidya handcuffed when arrested in the fake certificate case? If action is not taken against the policemen who handcuffed the students, a strong protest will be organized.

Time has never passed without a payback: VD Satheesan

Opposition leader VD Satheesan's with a Facebook post that time has never passed without a payback. Satheesan's note is accompanied by a picture of two students who are MSF district office bearers being led away in handcuffs by the police.

'These children are not fake certificate makers. They are not the ones who passed without writing the exam or those who tampered with the PSC list. They do not possess impersonation technology either. Do you know what crime these children have committed that deserves them to be handcuffed? They protested for enough seats to study in Plus One. They tried to show black flag to the education minister. It is not good of the police, who are bending their backs in front of SFI criminals, to show their fume on the opposition student youth organization leaders."
