THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP National President JP Nadda said that the Modi government will develop the narrow highways in Kerala to six-lane and raise them to international standards. He was inaugurating the Vishal Janasabha held at the Uday Palace in Kowdiar on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the NDA government at the Centre.

"The Centre has sanctioned Rs 55,000 crore for the development of national highways in the state. Its construction is progressing rapidly. 50,000 crore has been allocated by the Modi government for the Kanyakumari corridor. This will facilitate travel on Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode routes," Nadda said.

"During the Prime Minister's visit to Kerala, projects worth Rs 3,200 crore were announced for the development of railways in the state. He gifted the Vande Bharat train to Kerala. The central government is implementing massive infrastructure development projects such as the second phase of the Kochi Metro and the development of the Thiruvananthapuram airport. However, the state government is hiding all the development work done by the Modi government for Kerala. This is unfortunate. God's own country has become a land of corruption today," Nadda said.

BJP state president K. Surendran presided over the event. Union Ministers V. Muraleedharan, Shobha Karandlaje, BJP Kerala Prabhari Prakash Javadekar, Co-Prabhari Radha Mohan Aggarwal, former state presidents O. Rajagopal, Kummanam Rajasekaran, PK Krishnadas, district president VV Rajesh and others were present.
