PUNE: Police have arrested a young man who tried to attack a young woman with a machete in his hand. The incident took place on a street in Pune. The arrested person has been identified as Shantanu Laxman Jadhav. He was arrested for attacking 20-year-old Preeti Ramachandra. CCTV footage of the man trying to attack the woman has come out.
The CCTV footage shows the woman travelling on a scooter with her friend. The accused can be seen walking along the road and talking to the woman and her friend as they stop the scooter beside him. Soon, the accused takes a machete and attacks the two. After attacking the woman's friend, the accused turns and chases the woman with the machete.
The woman falls down while running away from the youth. Although the locals try to stop him, he can be seen attacking them as well. The locals soon apprehended him and handed him over to the police. The police said that they have arrested Shantanu and booked him for murder attempt.
