THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Some crucial information has surfaced in the incident of murdering a bride’s father on her wedding day in Varkala. The dead is Raju (61) of Sree Lakshmi at Vadasserikonam in Varkala.

Reports said accused Jishnu had come to their house thrice with the marriage proposal. A media reported that once he came with his brother and twice with his mother with the proposal.

Raju’s family was not interested in this relationship as they were not interested in inter caste marriage and their family background was also not good. When he came the third time, they had warned Jishnu, their neighbour. When Sree Lakshmi’s marriage was fixed, Jishnu said that he will not allow her to live peacefully.

‘Raju, his wife, daughter and a girl next door sustained injuries. Only these people were at home at the time of the incident. The accused came in a car. They beat Raju on his head with a spade and he died before reaching the hospital. Avoided Jishnu’s proposal as their family background was not good. There were no other problems in the name of it. Don’t know what happened now. Raju after coming from the Gulf, bought an auto and earned his income. Raju’s death was not informed to his wife and daughter,’ a relative told media.

Raju was abroad for 22 years. He reached Kerala four years ago and bought an auto. Meantimee, Minister Sivankutty responded that the incident was a demonic murder and the government is with the families of the victims. He added that use of drugs is behind such heinous crimes.
