NEW DELHI: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that new vehicles running 100% on ethanol will be launched in August. He said this in an interview to ANI.
‘From August, 100% ethanol-powered vehicles will be launched. Bajaj, TVS and Hero have manufactured these types of motorcycles. Like Toyota's Camry car, which runs on 60 percent petrol and 40 percent electricity, vehicles that run on 60 percent ethanol and 40 percent electricity will be brought to our country. This initiative will revolutionize our country.'
'Vehicles running on ethanol are cost-effective, non-polluting and indigenous. Ethanol is produced from sugarcane juice. So, it is manufactured by farmers in our country. I have always done activities beyond politics. BJP has taught us to be fair to everyone. Road development has been undertaken in all states without politics. Road development is a symbol of the development of our country,' he said.
Gadkari is called the highwayman of India because of the transformational changes he has brought in the country's infrastructure in the last nine years as Road Transport and Highways Minister.
