KOTTAYAM: A migrant worker was arrested for selling brown sugar behind the veil of a vegetable shop in Kottayam. Assam Sonipur native Rajikul Alam was arrested by Neelamangalam Excise enforcement and the anti-narcotic special squad.

From the shop, 78 small plastic packets were found filled with brown sugar. In the market, the same would give a humongous amount of Rs 4 lakhs. Rajikul has been working in the vegetable shop for more than five years. It is by train that he usually carts brown sugar to Kerala. He used to sell 100mg for Rs 5000. According to the police, Rajikul is a history sheeter. The Assam native tried to evade the police by running away but was tackled from behind by excise and police in one dramatic chase.
