THRISSUR: Truth got unveiled as the lab report confirmed saying the confiscated packets from a beauty parlour in Chalakudy were not drugs. Sheela Sunny, owner of the beauty parlour spent 72 days in jail after Excise claimed the seized packets to be LSD stamps. However, the lab report revealed the truth putting the whole excise in a fix. The excise officer in charge of the case was already handed a punishment transfer.
It was on February 27th, that the excise raided Sheela’s beauty parlour in Chalakudy after getting news about drugs stored in the building. The officers boasted about finding 12 LSD stamps from the parlour and made big news out of it. Sheela was crucified and later incarcerated for 72 days. However yesterday, the lab report came out contrary to the excise claims. Earlier excise officers said the seized 'stamps' were worth more than Rs 5000 each.
Sheela Sunny reacted to the news and said the tainted officers who failed their duties should be given appropriate punishment. The case is currently handled by the crime branch.
