NEW DELHI: As an opposition alliance is forming against the Modi government, BJP has intensified its preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. BJP is shaping the activities of the party from the grassroots. According to party sources, the 543 seats have been divided into three zones for organizational convenience.

The zones are divided into North, South and East zones. The BJP central leadership has also decided to organize separate meetings in each zone on July 6, 7, and 8.

Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Daman du - Dadra Nagar Haveli, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Haryana are included in the northern zone. The special meeting in this area will be held in Delhi on July 7.

The states in the eastern zone are Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Tripura. The regional meeting will be held in Guwahati on July 6. The southern zone includes Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Goa, Andaman and Nicobar, and Lakshadweep. The southern region conference will be held in Hyderabad on July 8.

BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Ministers in charge of the organization, and important leaders of the region will participate in the meetings. State BJP Presidents, BJP Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, MPs, MLAs, Union Ministers and Party National Committee members will also participate in the meetings, where discussions will take place on regional and national issues of their respective states and regions. It is during these meetings that a decision will be taken on giving the election duties to the leaders.
