KOCHI: PDP leader suspended after he was caught in a case of sending obscene messages to a journalist through WhatsApp. PDP State General Secretary Nisar Mether was suspended by the leadership. He was arrested by the Kadavanthra police on the complaint of a journalist from Kochi.

Kadavanthra police registered a case against him under the charges of indecent speech towards women and online abuse. The media worker lodged a complaint with the police after receiving constant messages in the middle of the night and early morning. The police have taken the PDP leader's laptop and mobile phone into custody.

Nisar Mether was tasked with informing the media about the health status of PDP Chairman Mahdani, who is in hospital. The media person contacted Nisar to inquire about Mahdani's health. After this, he started sending obscene messages. Although the media worker gave a warning, he continued sending messages, and a complaint was filed. Screenshots of messages sent by Nisar have also surfaced.

Meanwhile, Mahdani, who was released on bail and reached the Nedumbassery airport, fell ill on the way to Kollam Anwarssery and was admitted to the Ernakulam Medical Trust Hospital.
