NEW DELHI: The ban on traveling with alcohol in Delhi Metro has been lifted. From now on, a person can carry up to two bottles of liquor but they must ensure that the bottle is not opened. Delhi Metro authorities said that the rule has been amended for this.

Until now, only the passengers of the airport express line of the metro were allowed to carry alcohol. A committee consisting of high-ranking officials of DMRC and CISF, which is in charge of security, are the ones who decided to lift the ban. The authorities said that although alcohol is allowed to be carried, the ban on the consumption of alcohol in and around metro trains will continue.
