THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thieves are sitting, relaxing, and enjoying their heyday in the capital while the police are left with no clue where to start. These robbers are not following any textbook tricks but play with shrewd intelligence even duping higher-ranked officers lionized by the department.

Recently, on Pettah Moolavilakam road, robbers got into Prasadh Madhav’s home and took away 12 souvenirs of gold. The police studied the case and weaved a trap waiting for the robbers to jump in. However, what waited was another news of a robbery in Manacaud GHS lane, where the robbers took gold and diamond from one home. The segue was in Karikkakom, where Vinu Kumar's home was locked from the outside but was ransacked by the gang. Rs 2 lakh worth of possession went missing. Many such robberies are becoming the mainstay and terrorizing the capital but the police look flummoxed failing at the feet of such ingenious tricks.

In Vanchiyoor Judges' quarters, a sub-judge's cycle worth Rs 6800 was stolen last month. The case is still continuing with no respite. In Killipalam, robbers broke the window of a parked car to take away two laptops. Killipalam is one such hotspot in the city amassed with CCTV cameras, still, the police failed to get any evidence.
