BALASORE: Indian railway has started punitive actions on the horrifying Balasore train crash that happened last month. As part of the action, south eastern railway general manager Archana Joshi was moved from her position. Archana will assign a new role as the general manager of the rail wheel factory in Yelahanka, Karnataka.

Anil Kumar Mishra will replace Archana and will take charge soon as the new general manager of the south eastern railway. The railway safety commission submitted a report on the tragedy which initiated the actions. Earlier, five officers of the southeastern railway were moved to other positions as part of the punishment.

It was on June 2 that India saw one of the most horrifying train tragedies of recent times. 292 people died in the crash after Coromandel Express entered a loop to crash on another passenger train. 1208 people were injured in the crash. Meanwhile, CBI has sealed the house of railway signaling junior engineer Amir Khan.
