KOZHIKODE: Balussery Mankayam branch secretary VM Rajeevan was sacked by CPM on the complaint that he demanded bribe from a quarry owner. The party's action comes after phone conversations related to bribe demands came to light.
The action is from the CPM Kanthanad local committee. The local committee clarified that Rajeevan, who was the branch secretary, was expelled from his post and primary membership of CPM. The decision was taken in the local committee meeting.
In the voice recording, Rajeevan demands two crore rupees to continue operating the quarry without any objections. Rajeevan demanded Rs 2 crore from the quarry company representative to hand over his house and another person's house and withdraw the complaint. The CPM Balussery Area Committee had also clarified that the party would look into the audio message. The action was taken after this.
