THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Strong winds and bad weather conditions are likely over Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep regions till Monday with a speed of 40 to 45 kmph and at some occasions up to 55 kmph. Owing to this situation, the Indian Meteorological Department has advised that people should not go fishing in these areas in these specific days.
Winds of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional gusts of up to 65 kmph are likely over Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Comorin region of South Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
Bad weather is likely in Sri Lanka Coast, South West Bay of Bengal adjoining South East Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea adjoining Central East Bay of Bengal on Saturday, North Tamil Nadu Coast, South West Bay of Bengal adjoining Sri Lanka Coast, South East Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Andhra Pradesh Coast adjoining 40 to 45 per hour over Central West Bay of Bengal on Sunday and on Monday over Tamil Nadu coast, South West Bay of Bengal adjacent to Sri Lankan coast, Central West Bay of Bengal adjacent to South East Bay of Bengal, Central East Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Central West Bay of Bengal adjacent to Andhra Pradesh coast. According to IMD, fishermen should be careful not to go fishing in the warning areas as there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather with speeds of up to 55 kmph.
