THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two policemen have been sacked from service for attempting to kidnap a trader in Kattakkada. Rural SP D Shilpa issued an order sacking civil police officers Kiran Kumar and Vineeth from service.
The two policemen, who worked in the Nedumangad subdivision, were under suspension from October 4 for illegally trading tiles and financial fraud. The Aryanadu police had conducted an investigation and submitted a report on the complaint of the natives of Tamil Nadu regarding the financial transactions of the two. Following this, both of them were issued show-cause notices.
Vineeth and Kiran had suffered a loss of about one crore rupees in the tiles business. In order to settle this financial obligation, the two tried to kidnap Mujeeb, the owner of an electronics firm in Kattakkada, on the pretext of a police inspection last Saturday night. The two, who were arrested two days ago, are in remand.
