THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vande Bharat trains running in Kerala have the highest number of passengers in the country. Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram train has performed the best among the 23 Vande Bharat trains in country. Close behind is Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharat. This was informed by the railways. Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat presently has almost double the number of passengers waiting to travel (occupancy rate 183 per cent). The occupancy rate in Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharat is 176 percent. Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express is in the third place. Its occupancy rate is 134 percent.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Vande Bharat trains in Kerala on April 25. There was anxiety on whether the passengers would accept Vande Bharat. However, it proved wrong in the first few weeks itself. From April 28th to May 3rd, the ticket revenue alone was Rs 2.7 crore. Better facilities and speed are believed to have made Vande Bharat more popular among passengers. Along with this, excellent safety systems made Vande Bharat a favourite among the passengers.
