ALAPPUZHA: Investigation has been launched against Sree Mahesh, the man accused of killing his daughter Nakshathra in Mavelikara, to find out his alleged involvement in the death of his wife Vidya. The action was taken on the basis of a complaint filed by the parents to the district superintendent of police demanding an investigation into the mystery of Vidya's death. The investigation team reached Vidya's house in Pathiyoor and took the statements of her father Lakshmanan and mother Rajashree.
As per reports, both of them explained to the police, the suspicions regarding the death, the torture and financial exploitation Vidya faced in her husband's house. SP has asked for the diary of the case registered by the Mavelikkara police on Vidya's death. The decision is to re-investigate on the basis of the post-mortem report and the chemical test results. The statement came after Kerala Kaumudi reported that Vidya's parents had decided to meet the Chief Minister demanding an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Vidya's death.
On June 4, 2019, Vidya was found hanging dead in her husband's house. After his father was killed by a train, Sree Mahesh, who had returned home from the Middle East, used to constantly fight with Vidya over money. The family intervened and solved the problems many times.
After the family came to know that Vidya was missing, her body was found hanging on in the kitchen, with her knees touching the floor. Shree Mahesh and his mother, who were in a closed room next door, informed that Vidya had hanged herself after locking them. Vidya's family and relatives had alleged that no investigation was done in the complaint filed by them with the police that day citing a mystery.
