THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state committee has decided to take along Manipur violence and uniform civil code as core issues to fight BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party will seek support from minority sections to rally behind in protests against the purported UCC implementation by the central government. CPM will conduct seminars to elucidate people on UCC in an event scheduled to take place in Kozhikode this month.
From July 5th, CPM will conduct protests in all 140 constituencies in Kerala against the inhuman treatment hurled at the Christian minorities of Manipur. The CPM-CPI delegates are planning to visit Manipur in the upcoming months. According to the party, UCC if implemented will create a wedge within the society, and a ruthless rise is expected in majority sectarianism.
“ In 2025, RSS is celebrating its centenary. This is also significant as BJP is planning for a critical takeover of democracy during this period. It is well established through RSS dossiers of olden times how the organization wanted a Hindu India by its 100th year of formation. Congress meanwhile is redundant, taking an ambiguous stand on UCC. Rahul Gandhi is not even responding while Himachal Congress has shockingly supported UCC.” CPM state secretary M V Govindan said.
In the seminar planned at Kozhikode this month, prominent leaders of Samsatha will also share the stage.
